ABOUT US

<Kingdom of Gilneas> is a Gilnean-focused roleplay community on Moon Guard (originally founded on Wyrmrest Accord in 2011). Our goal is to recreate the government, military, and various other important institutions in Gilnean culture while offering a friendly, mature, and welcoming community that caters to many different roleplaying interests. In our community you can live as an ordinary citizen, work for the government, serve as a soldier or intelligence agent, be elected to parliament, join the church, join a druidic order, join a variety of private institutions, or join a criminal gang. Our unifying theme is Gilnean culture. Our leaders and officers are all veteran roleplayers with a great deal of Warcraft experience, and they are dedicated to maintaining an open, positive, and welcoming community. All races and classes are welcome to participate with us. Anyone can immigrate to Gilneas. You don't have to be Gilnean or Worgen to join.

In addition to roleplaying, we enjoy engaging in all of the game content that WoW has to offer, including mythics, raids, and PvP. We are an LGBT+ friendly community.

IC OVERVIEW

In the aftermath of the Fourth War, the Kingdom of Gilneas undertook significant efforts to rebuild its government and important cultural institutions. The Gilnean Royal Court, still operating as a government-in-exile out of Stormwind at the time, invested significant resources into reforming its critical ministries and bureaucracies. Additionally, the two great religious traditions of Gilneas: those who worship the light and those who practice the old ways, have seen significant growth in their institutions and followership. Further, the Kingdom of Gilneas organized and held elections for Gilnean Parliament, organized into the House of Nobles and House of Commons, to give the people of Gilneas a voice in their government.

When the time finally came for the Gilnean people to reclaim their homeland after so many years displaced, the Gilnean government and major Gilnean cultural institutions were ready to hit the ground running. Even though Gilneas has only recently been reclaimed, the kingdom, under the new leadership of Her Majesty Tess Greymane, has been thriving and growing. Gilneas has opened its arms, welcoming new immigrants from many nations and many walks of life. If you're willing to become one of us, if you're willing to give your loyalty to our Queen, if you're willing to give your heart and commit yourself to the rebuilding of Gilneas, you are welcome to join us and build a new life as a Gilnean citizen.

COMMUNITY RULES (OOC RULES)

1. All members and guests must be at least 18 years old. Mature themes and content will be present in IC roleplay and OOC discussion.
2. All player characters must be at least 18 years old. Our members shall not directly roleplay as player characters under the age of 18.  There are far too many potential problems that can come up when players RP as underage characters, and many other players are not comfortable interacting with underage characters.  You may control NPC characters who are under 18 (e.g. the children, nephews/nieces, younger siblings, etc. of your adult characters) but they should never be included when mature RP is taking place.
3. All members and guests shall uphold a high standard of good conduct. We expect everyone to do their best to always maintain a friendly, respectful, and mature environment in our Guild and our Discord server.  This is a place for people to make friends and to enjoy fun roleplay.
4. Take personal conflicts to private spaces. Disagreements will happen, and that's okay!  If this occurs, promptly take the discussion to a private chat and do your best to resolve it with the others involved.  After you have attempted this in good faith, if you still need help, please reach out to an officer.
5. We have no minimum participation requirements. Do what you can, when you can, and remember to have a good time!  Real life always comes first!
6. Discord and Guild OOC chats and public IC roleplay must always be capped at an R-rated level. If discussions or roleplay start to become explicit, please immediately take them to private group chats or NSFW channels.  ERP is not prohibited, but please use tact and discretion.
7. Consent must always be respected. No one shall be pressured into engaging in any type of IC roleplay or OOC discussion that person is not comfortable engaging in.  If any roleplay or discussion is making you uncomfortable, you need to promptly and privately inform those you are engaged with.  Upon such a notification, all parties involved should either make accommodations in order to continue or should end the roleplay or discussion.
8. Under no circumstances will any member or guest of this community engage in sexual or otherwise explicit roleplay with any character or any player below the age of 18. Engaging in this, expressing interest in this, or expressing support for this will result in an immediate ban.
9. Hateful or discriminatory behavior towards any person or group will never be tolerated. This shall include, but not be limited to, such behavior on the basis of race, sex, nationality, religion, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
10. Discussion of real-world political and social issues is strictly prohibited. We understand there's a lot of contentious things going on right now.  The public spaces of our Discord and Guild are NOT appropriate for discussing them, regardless of which side of any issue you may be on, or whether or not you think most people would agree with you.
11. The privacy and security of personal information must always be respected. The intentional and malicious or grossly negligent disclosure of another person's personally identifiable information such as legal name, address, phone number, personal photographs, employer/professional information, and similar without that person's permission is strictly prohibited. This rule is not intended to punish genuine accidents or good faith misunderstandings, but rather to prevent doxing and similar malicious or retaliatory actions.
